October 2006 - the bane of freedom

Ok, i’m going to rant for a bit about marriage.

I’ve just been reading about how the fundies want to put an end to all contraception and how they’ve been fucking around with our children’s health education with their ‘abstinence until marriage’ ideology for decades and i’m just royally pissed and truly sick to my stomach over this crap.

And i’ve decided to take on marriage. What makes it so great? really? 50% of marriages in this country end in divorce. as many of 80% of couples engage in extra-marital affairs at least once. Tell me, someone, honestly - what is so sacred about making vows that no one can keep?

I wish someone could just be honest and step up and admit that the problem people have is sex. we’re afraid of sex. because let’s face it, if we were more free with sharing that ultimate, blissful ecstasy with whomever, whenever and wherever we wanted, who would have time to feed the capitalist economy, wage war, or even hate anyone? we’d all be much too busy keeping our lovers on the edge of ecstasy and searching out our next ecstatic encounter.

I wish some of those fundies would just go out and get themselves laid, really well. to have some fantastic, transcendent sex. then they wouldn’t have time to worry about who is having sex and not procreating with whom.

goddess, i can’t wait to get home to make love with my girlfriend….
