I love California!

But those homophobic radical right-wing christians sure don’t.

First California passed legislation that prohibits bullying on the grounds of perceived sexual orientation or gender expression (among other things, like race and class, etc. but the fundies jumped on the gay bit). Well wouldn’t you know it, the right winger fundies got all up in arms over how the public schools were going to teach kids the joys of being homosexual. How stopping bullying gets translated into a how-to on homosexuality, I have no idea. Those fundies have weird senses of logic and cause-effect. It must have something to do with worshiping a vengeful god.

Now the California Supreme Court has ruled that denying same-sex marriage licenses is unconstitutional. Those California fundies are tripping over themselves to condemn the state for its corruption and amorality.

I wish people could just get over this opposition to gay marriage. I mean, really, don’t we have more important things to worry about than who is kissing the brides? (or grooms?) Is there not a bloody, illegal war going on? Isn’t the economy in the toilet?

Oh! Funny aside, I heard second-hand of a comedian who recently said that these fundies should shut up because all those gay-boy weddings are going to be great for the economy, since the average wedding costs upwards of $20,000. Talk about economic stimulus.

…here comes the brides…
